"I Drew A Heart Around The Name of Your City"

this is a gigantic collage of photographs.

[+] full view makes sense

i apologize for the grain/noise of the image, the photographs are clear but the digital camera/lighting/size made things less appealing.

The middle was created with many pieces of photo paper cut and piled up, the picture was placed in the middle and I used a sharpie marker and transparency to write the words in the skyline while in the darkroom.

Many tiny images were added around, they are all of various places around the city I took the big shot in.
The eyes have been blacked out on the man because this image was not about him though he's in some shots, and I feel this creates more anonymity.

The finished product was so large, that the digital picture does it no justice.

the texts and arrows read:
"where you promised me forever"/"Backseat Love"/"This was the beginning"/"Where I fell for you"/"Where we met"/"Where we said I Love You"/"My Heart Broke Here"/"our favorite hangout"/"had our first kiss"/"where we had our first fight"/"This was the end"

it is about a couple's relationship and the spots where certain events took place.
the beginning... the fun... the heartbreak... the end.

hmmm..transperancy with sharpie markers in the darkroom, that's such a good idea I might just have to try it myself one day =)

besides that I really like how you set up the story, it's a good concept for taletelling with images..

yeah, the noise/grain has less to do with the photographs and more to do with the digital picture i took of it :/ i've been trying to take various shots of it to help this, but the lighting i have to work with is aweful since i cant use the flash (it'd blank out the middle)

I really, really love this, never seen anything like it.
